Personal Development – 3 Quick and Easy Ways to Explore Your Talents

Posted on August 25th, 2010

Personal development means setting the intent to progress each moment. Progression occurs effortlessly when each moment is spent developing your talents.

You can’t develop a talent unless it’s been discovered. This exploratory process takes years for some and never occurs for others. The select few who know what they are good at and stick with it from their childhood through adulthood often go on to be world changers. A lifetime spent developing talent can produce awe-inspiring masterpieces.

Write Out What You Are Good At

Take a few hours to list your talents. Think long and hard. Before you make the lame excuse that you aren’t good at anything, tell your ego to shut the hell up, then proceed.

You have unlimited talents. Focus on the things which you enjoy doing. Writing, exercising, helping others with their problems = possible author, personal trainer, life coach. Personal development involves asking many questions and listening for the answers. Start your query and wait to be supplied.

Whatever you are good at, you can become a billionaire doing it. Sound uncomfortable? Good. I challenged your belief system. Thank me later.

Solicit the Opinions of Others

Be careful. Don’t let others define you. The purpose is to find a talent which you might have overlooked.

I have taken you tube by storm recently. Up until a few months ago I hadn’t shot but 10 videos. The turning point?  It hit me today. I have my BS in Meteorology and more than one person told me I’d be the perfect on air weatherman. I’ve decided to go in a different direction but their advice planted a seed in my subconscious mind, leading to my video creation campaign.

Practice Exploring

Talents may be hidden under year’s worth of limiting beliefs. Practice doing what you want to do on a daily basis to allow these talents to surface. Set aside a few hours of talent search time. Don’t worry, the performer and audience is you. Self-consciousness might be too big a hurdle to overcome as you explore your talents.

Any talent which you possess can be monetized. Before you disagree with that statement, think of this. If you couldn’t profit from it, God wouldn’t have blessed you with the ability to do it. Do you know more than God? Didn’t think so.
